CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Faced with another Pokémon, Ditto can abandon its own form to reproduce the other’s appearance. This imitation seems almost perfect when the model remains before its eyes. Without it, memory takes over and mistakes become possible. Its talent illustrates a familiar distinction: copying what one observes and reconstructing what one remembers do not require the same effort.

A detail worth noticing

With Copy, this Ditto chooses an attack of the Defending Pokémon and uses it only if it has the necessary Energy; the attack's other requirements still apply. Its Prismatic Body power makes each attached basic Energy count as any type, supplying one Energy at a time. That flexibility facilitates copying without removing its cost.

Abilities

Prismatic Body

Poke-BODY

Each basic Energy card attached to Ditto provides every type of Energy but provides only 1 Energy at a time.

Attacks

Copy

Cost: Colorless

Choose 1 of the Defending Pokémon's attacks. Copy copies that attack. This attack does nothing if Ditto doesn't have the Energy necessary to use that attack. (You must still do anything else required in order to use that attack.)

Documented variants
