CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Grumpig carries several black pearls that amplify its psychic waves. When it acts, it begins a strange dance and can take control of an opponent. The effort has a cost: the Pokédex says it struggles to breathe while using this power. The pearls themselves are described as extremely valuable. Behind its almost ceremonial movements therefore lies a powerful technique dependent on its body and these rare objects.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Omega Ruby mentions Grumpig's breathing difficulty when it amplifies its powers with its black pearls. Pokémon Alpha Sapphire describes their very high value and the dance accompanying their use. Its spectacular power thus demands visible physical effort.
