The story behind this Trainer card

Janine's Secret Art searches the deck for one basic Darkness Energy for each chosen Darkness Pokémon, up to two. These Energy cards attach directly to their recipients before the deck is shuffled. A drawback appears if your Active Pokémon receives Energy this way: it becomes Poisoned. The player therefore decides which allies to prepare while considering their positions and this risk to the active fighter.

Janine's Secret Art does not automatically Poison every powered Pokémon. It affects your Active Pokémon if an Energy was attached to it through this effect. Benched recipients are not targeted by this drawback.
