CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Ledyba is so timid that it prefers staying near its kind and defending their nest together. It communicates through scented liquid produced at its leg joints. The smell changes with its emotions and grows more sour when it is angry. Sensitive to cold, it seems to regain energy in warm regions. The Pokédex describes collective life in which the group's mood can be sensed through the odors it leaves.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Omega Ruby explains that Ledyba expresses feelings by changing the smell of fluid secreted from its legs. Pokémon Moon notes that anger makes the scent sour. Its chemical communication therefore conveys more than a simple signal of presence.
