CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Happiny imitates Chansey by keeping an egg-shaped stone in its belly pouch. It carefully looks after this object and may lend it to people it likes. If they fail to return it, however, tears and anger quickly replace trust. In Hisui, it is also seen playing house with children. The stone therefore accompanies imitation and attachment behaviours that matter far more than its appearance alone.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Happiny's precious object is a stone rather than a real egg, Sword reminds us. Shield specifies that it may lend the stone but reacts strongly if someone keeps it. Legends: Arceus also shows it playing house with children.
