The Pokémon’s story

Gastly does not fit the reassuring outlines of a solid body. Made of gas and almost invisible, it can envelop a target without being noticed. The abandoned buildings where it is said to appear become places in which the air itself seems suspect. Its unsettling presence comes from this impossibility of grasping it: danger takes the form of something that seems barely there.

A detail worth noticing

Gastly 177/162 carries Mousho's illustration credit. Its first attack can discard an Energy from the opponent's Active Pokémon on heads; Suffocating Gas stays at 30 damage. Gastly 102/162 retains these effects. Number and artist distinguish the references without implying a difference in rules.
