CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Bisharp leads a cohort of Pawniard and watches its subordinates to prevent rebellion. The group hunts prey, then the leader delivers the final blow. Its position is nevertheless precarious: leaders fight for supremacy, and the loser may be expelled. According to the Pokédex, even a small chip in the blade on its head is enough to make it relinquish its role. Its authority thus depends as much on the condition of its weapon as on its strength.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Ultra Sun states that a Bisharp abdicates if its head blade is chipped, however powerful it may be. This detail establishes a harsh rule for the pack’s hierarchy. Pokémon Shield also relates its rivalries over the best sharpening stones.
