CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Ferroseed clings to cave walls with its spikes and absorbs their minerals. Moss growing in some of these places helps it develop larger, stronger spikes. In danger, it fires them and then rolls away to escape. This defense takes practice: young individuals cannot yet shoot accurately. The Pokédex presents a small Pokémon whose environment directly nourishes its armor and weapons.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Shield attributes the strength of Ferroseed's spikes to enzymes in cave moss. Pokémon Sword notes that it must practice firing them in the right direction. Better spike growth alone is therefore not enough to master their use.
