CARDEX BACKGROUND

About the species

Spheal moves faster by rolling than walking thanks to its round body wrapped in a layer of fat. During the cold season, entire groups cross ice and sea this way. When eating together, they clap their flippers and make the meal very noisy. From the waves, Spheal also spots prey and alerts the group's Walrein. The Pokédex describes a collective life in which movement, food and warning signals are shared.

This account describes the species in the video games. It does not describe its Trainer’s history or that of this copy, and does not identify the depicted form or sex.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Omega Ruby describes Spheal all clapping together at mealtime. Pokémon Shield gives them a lookout role, alerting Walrein to prey. Their joyful sounds and their warnings thus serve two very different moments in group life.
