CARDEX BACKGROUND
Rhydon stands on its hind legs and uses its horn like a drill to bore through rock. Its thick hide lets it cross lava fields where few other Pokémon would venture. Evolution has made it more dexterous and intelligent than Rhyhorn without diminishing its strength. Its tail and horn can still destroy massive obstacles. The Pokédex thus presents an animal capable of carving a path through stone rather than merely charging into it.
Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.Pokémon Alpha Sapphire describes Rhydon's horn as a rock drill. Pokémon Shield states that its skin can withstand magma at 2,000°C. This combination of tool and protection explains its ability to explore a volcanic environment.
Quoted source text is retained in the card’s printed language so this exact printing can be identified. The CarDex background above is translated into English.
