CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Lurantis resembles a flower, but it also maintains the appearance of a Bug-type Pokémon for protection. The petals on its arms are thin blades capable of cutting through a tough obstacle. They absorb light and can send it back as a beam. In battle, its movements resemble a dance, earning it a reputation for great beauty. The Pokédex thus combines elegance, camouflage and plant-based weapons.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Ultra Sun notes that Lurantis imitates a Bug-type Pokémon to defend itself. Pokémon Shield describes petals capable of storing and then reflecting light. Its floral silhouette therefore conceals both visual deception and a ranged attack.
