CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Cetoddle's ancestors are said to have left the ocean for land long ago. The Pokédex suggests a possible relationship with Wailmer without presenting it as certain. Today, Cetoddle lives in freezing regions, often in small groups of around five. It seeks minerals contained in snow and ice. Its current habitat therefore does not erase the question of its origin: the entries connect terrestrial life in the cold with a supposed marine past.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Scarlet places Cetoddle's ancestors' departure from the ocean in the distant past and suggests a connection with Wailmer. Pokémon Violet describes its small groups in frozen regions and its attraction to minerals in snow.
