CARDEX BACKGROUND
The Pokémon’s story
Squirtle’s shell accompanies its every movement. On land, it becomes a refuge into which it can withdraw its limbs when danger approaches. In water, by contrast, its rounded shape and grooves ease movement. What first looks like armour also tells of a swimmer’s life: its protection contributes to its freedom of movement.
Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.A detail worth noticing
Squirtle sm10-33's Bubble deals 10 damage even if the coin lands the wrong way. On heads, it also Paralyzes the opponent's Active Pokémon; the flip determines the Special Condition rather than the printed damage. tetsuya koizumi illustrated this printing, whose second effect remains conditional.
