CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Frosmoth flies with extremely cold wings. The Pokédex gives their temperature as minus one hundred and eighty degrees; in flight, frozen scales detach and fall like snow. This peaceful spectacle contrasts with its response to damage to the landscape. It beats its wings to unleash blizzards against those who defile fields and hills. The cold accompanying it can therefore look decorative from afar, then become a formidable defense of its environment.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Sword sets Frosmoth's wing temperature at −180°C and compares its falling scales to snowflakes. Pokémon Shield reveals another consequence of this cold: blizzards raised to drive vandals from fields and hills.
