CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Baxcalibur breathes air so cold that it can instantly freeze still-burning lava, according to the Pokédex. In battle, it flips upside down to project this breath, then uses its back blade to finish the confrontation. Its two weapons therefore follow an order: cold reaches the opponent first, and the dorsal fin follows. This way of turning gives the large Pokémon a more mobile attack than simply standing still facing its target.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Scarlet goes so far as to say that air expelled by Baxcalibur instantly freezes liquid lava. Pokémon Violet describes its battle sequence: it flips over, breathes icy air, then finishes the opponent with its dorsal blade.
