The story behind this Trainer card

Rescue Board reduces its holder's Retreat Cost by one Colorless Energy. If that Pokémon has thirty HP or less remaining, its Retreat Cost disappears entirely. The Tool therefore provides two levels of help depending on the teammate's condition. The special requirement checks remaining HP, not the amount of damage removed or the HP total printed on the card.

A detail worth noticing

With Rescue Board, reaching thirty remaining HP changes a simple reduction into having no Retreat Cost at all. The Pokémon does not gain HP as a result: the Tool helps it move without healing the damage it carries.
