CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Chikorita prefers sunshine and peaceful surroundings. Yet when a confrontation begins, it waves its leaf to keep the opponent at a distance. The fragrance it releases can then soothe the fighters themselves. Its defense thus carries an unusual gentleness: a gesture meant to repel the other also makes the encounter less hostile, as though calm were trying to return.

A detail worth noticing

Chikorita sm8-6's Mini Drain deals 10 damage while healing 10 damage from Chikorita. The healing affects the attacker rather than another Benched Pokémon. sowsow receives the illustration credit for this printing, where a small offensive amount comes with recovery of the same size.
