CARDEX BACKGROUND
Chewtle bites whatever passes in front of it, driven by the itching of its growing teeth. In battle, it often starts by striking with its very hard horn. If the opponent recoils, it then clamps its jaws onto them and refuses to let go. The Pokédex shows a two-stage attack, from horn to bite. Its biting habit is therefore more than a youthful compulsion: it also becomes a weapon when an opening appears.
Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.Pokémon Sword attributes Chewtle's spontaneous bites to itchy teeth. Pokémon Shield specifies its attack sequence: an initial horn strike unsettles the opponent, then the bite continues without Chewtle releasing its grip.
Quoted source text is retained in the card’s printed language so this exact printing can be identified. The CarDex background above is translated into English.
Apparently the itch of its teething impels it to snap its jaws at anything in front of it.Cost: Water · Colorless
