CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Donphan curls its body into a ball and builds up speed to charge. Once moving, it struggles to stop and can knock down imposing obstacles. Its tusks grow slowly; within the herd, their size indicates each individual's rank. This strength is not used only for battle. The Pokédex says it can move rocks and mud blocking mountain paths, helping travelers get through again.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Y links the size of Donphan's tusks to its rank in the herd. Pokémon Alpha Sapphire describes its strength being used to clear blocked paths. An ability capable of knocking down a house can therefore also reopen a route.
