CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Swadloon covers itself with a leaf to keep out cold. In the forest, it eats leaves fallen on the ground. Yet it does more than consume them: the Pokédex explains that it turns dead leaves into fertilizer. Vegetation can therefore thrive where it lives. Its protection, food and environmental effect come from the same material. The leaf litter it depends on also contributes, through Swadloon, to the forest's renewal.

A detail worth noticing

Alpha Sapphire describes Swadloon wrapped in a leaf and eating fallen leaves in the forest. Omega Ruby gives it another role: it turns dead leaves into fertilizer, supporting the growth of surrounding plants.
