CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Lairon nests in mountains rich in iron ore and mineral water. It absorbs iron from rocks and water to maintain its steel body. This search for resources sometimes brings it into contact with miners. It fights at close quarters to defend its territory, and scratches on its armour preserve the traces. It can also rub its body against stone and produce great sparks, a visible sign of strength.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Alpha Sapphire explains that Lairon feeds on iron in both water and rock. Pokémon Shield reads territorial conflicts in the scratches on its armour. Its scars therefore provide evidence of competition for the same mountains.
