CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Arrokuda reacts to the slightest movement around it by charging straight ahead, pointed jaw first. It takes particular pride in this weapon and wastes little time using it. After eating its fill, its behavior changes completely: it becomes so sluggish that a Cramorant can swallow it. The Pokédex thus shows the same prey animal at two opposite moments. Swift and aggressive when hunting, Arrokuda becomes vulnerable as soon as its meal slows it down.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Shield places Arrokuda's weakness immediately after a meal, when its movements become very slow and a Cramorant can catch it. Pokémon Sword emphasizes the other extreme: it immediately charges anything that moves with its pointed snout.
