The Pokémon’s story
Trapinch prepares its hunt by shaping the sand. Its funnel-shaped pit becomes a trap where it waits patiently for prey to slide in. Stones encountered during digging do not stop it: its powerful jaws crush them. At nightfall, it buries itself to sleep, continuing a life in which shelter, rest and the search for food are built in the same environment.

Trapinch's attack starts at 10 damage and adds 10 if a Stadium is in play. No. 89 from Darkness Ablaze and No. 40 from Shining Fates keep that threshold without naming a particular Stadium. Asako Ito illustrated the former, MAHOU the latter, without changing the attack's condition.
