The Pokémon’s story

Absol has long suffered from confusion between announcing a disaster and causing it. Because its appearance sometimes precedes catastrophe, humans have held it responsible. Yet the Pokédex mainly describes its ability to perceive signs of danger. The mountain-dwelling loner thus bears a reputation that turns its talent for anticipation into a reason for fear among those who encounter it.

A detail worth noticing

The first attack lets this Japanese Absol examine the top four cards of either deck and put them back in the chosen order. Its second returns all its Energy to the hand; the hit Pokémon is Knocked Out at the end of the opponent's next turn. The effect exchanges Energy for a delayed threat.
