CARDEX BACKGROUND

About the species

Skarmory flies with steel wings whose edges can be damaged in battle. Once a year, the damaged parts regrow and regain their sharpness. This living armour nevertheless calls for precautions: its plumage can rust, so it tends to remain in its nest on rainy days. The Pokédex describes a fast, dangerous bird that is nonetheless subject to the natural maintenance of its own feathers. Its strength also depends on its ability to renew itself.

This account describes the species in the video games. It does not describe its Trainer’s history or that of this copy, and does not identify the depicted form or sex.

A detail worth noticing

Feathers shed by Skarmory have been used to make blades and even swords. Pokémon Sun mentions their use by ancient warriors, while Pokémon Shield explains why this bird appears on coats of arms. Its plumage has thus left a mark on human objects and symbols.
