The Pokémon’s story

Orthworm lives in arid deserts and maintains its metallic body by absorbing iron from the soil. This connection with the ground does not make it passive. When an opponent attacks, its long appendages become fists and it responds with a flurry of blows. The Pokédex shows a Pokémon drawing the material its body needs from its surroundings, then using that same body's flexibility to defend itself. Beneath an appearance of rigid metal, its movements remain fast.
