CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Moltres crosses the sky with wings that scatter flames at every beat. The Pokédex describes it as a bird capable of controlling fire, but also attributes a spectacular way of healing to it: when injured, it is said to bathe in a volcano’s magma. Its glowing silhouette can light up the night. In the stories that follow it, fire is therefore more than a weapon; it accompanies its flight, survival and recovery of strength.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Shield reports that Moltres’s blazing wings have lit paths for people lost in the mountains. The same fire that can frighten thus becomes a landmark in the darkness. The entry uses the form of a passed-down story, without identifying the travellers concerned.
