CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Dragalge waits for prey hidden among seaweed. It also defends its home waters by spraying poison corrosive enough to dissolve a ship's metal. Boats crossing its territory risk emerging as wrecks; some stories even say they never return. Yet it does not always stay hidden: it exposes its head crest to the sun to produce dragon energy. The Pokédex combines patient hunting with formidable defense.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Ultra Sun notes that Dragalge curiously likes Dhelmise while driving intruders from its territory with poison. Pokémon Shield describes its crest exposed to sunlight to produce dragon energy. Even this predator lurking in seaweed depends on surface light.
