CARDEX BACKGROUND
Starly crosses fields and forests in large flocks looking for Bug-type Pokémon. Alone it remains fragile; living in a group gives it a better chance against danger. That does not prevent quarrels among flock members. Despite its small size, each beats its wings vigorously to keep up with the others. The Pokédex describes a noisy species whose collective strength coexists with frequent squabbles.
Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.Pokémon Black explains that Starly live together because they are weak alone. Pokémon Y places their flocks in fields and forests where they hunt insects. Gathering therefore serves movement as much as reducing vulnerability.
Quoted source text is retained in the card’s printed language so this exact printing can be identified. The CarDex background above is translated into English.
