About this Pokémon form

The lower part of Mega Gengar's body disappears from view because it is said to be partially immersed in another dimension. A third eye opens on its forehead and allows it to observe that other world. This eye stays constantly open, never blinking. Its transformation thus gives its unsettling appearance a special connection with a space others cannot see.

A detail worth noticing

In Pokémon X and Y, Gengar loses Levitate when it Mega Evolves and gains Shadow Tag. This Ability change limits an opponent's options for fleeing or switching out. The trap therefore also comes from its new battle mechanics.
