CARDEX BACKGROUND
The Pokémon’s story
Sealeo spins any round object it finds on its nose, sometimes even a Spheal. While balancing it, it identifies its smell and texture to decide whether it likes it. This game resembles a way of exploring the unfamiliar. On sea ice, it also uses smell to locate prey while swimming. The Pokédex thus connects its amusing curiosity with a sense useful for feeding.
Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.A detail worth noticing
Pokémon Alpha Sapphire says Sealeo smells and touches an object while spinning it on its nose. Pokémon Sword reports that it detects prey by smell in water. Its balancing game therefore also uses a sense important to its hunting.
