CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Regice is said to have formed beneath a thick layer of ice during the ice age. Its body consists entirely of frozen water, and it supposedly remained enclosed in a glacier for thousands of years. Around it, the air can fall to minus two hundred degrees: those approaching risk freezing on the spot. The Pokédex credits it with astonishing resistance, since even magma supposedly cannot melt this ancient ice. Its appearance brings back cold from another age.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Alpha Sapphire states that Regice can plunge into magma without melting while freezing whatever passes nearby. Pokémon Sword puts the air it projects at minus two hundred degrees. These entries describe ice behaving beyond that of an ordinary glacier.
