CARDEX BACKGROUND
Wobbuffet prefers to endure attacks rather than start a fight. It lives quietly in darkness, keeping its black tail hidden from view. When struck, endurance seems to define its entire attitude. Yet this patience has a very clear limit: touching its tail changes its response, revealing the particular importance it places on this small, carefully protected part of its body.
Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later. Two Wobbuffet can turn their endurance into a contest. Pokémon Omega Ruby reports that they sometimes compete to see which can last longer without eating. Their rivalry can therefore take the unexpected form of a test of patience rather than an exchange of blows.
Quoted source text is retained in the card’s printed language so this exact printing can be identified. The CarDex background above is translated into English.
