When Venusaur Mega Evolves, the released energy makes the flower on its back grow even larger. Carrying this new mass requires a sturdier body: its legs and pelvis strengthen to support it. In Pokémon X and Y, this transformation also markedly improves its defenses. The flower's spectacular growth therefore accompanies a profound change in its support and resilience.
