CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Feraligatr may look heavy and slow when motionless. In battle, it opens its huge mouth to intimidate, stamps the ground with its hind legs and then charges with surprising speed. Once it has caught its prey, it shakes its head to increase the effect of its bite. Pokédex entries emphasize this abrupt shift between appearance and movement. It is wiser to watch its legs preparing than to trust its lumbering look.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Omega Ruby describes Feraligatr stamping the ground before charging. Pokémon Y notes that it then shakes its head when biting. These two movements form an attack sequence that its bulky appearance does not make easy to anticipate.
