CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Inside its beak, Toucannon ignites gas to propel seeds with enough force to break rock. The same beak becomes scorching in battle and can cause serious contact injuries. Yet these Pokémon use it to communicate with one another: the force and number of beak taps express their feelings. The Pokédex also mentions their harmonious pairs, invited to weddings as good-luck charms. A formidable weapon thus becomes a means of dialogue among peers.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Moon explains that gas ignited inside Toucannon's beak launches seeds fast enough to pulverize rocks. Pokémon Ultra Sun describes its exchanges through beak taps. Pokémon Ultra Moon reports its presence at weddings as a favorable omen.
