CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Piplup moves with a pride that does not depend on its balance. Even when it falls while walking, it can get back up and puff out its chest as though the incident did not matter. It struggles to accept human help, especially food. Beneath its endearing appearance is a little character attached to its independence, making trust less immediate than one might imagine.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

In the water, Piplup is much more assured than on its feet. Pokémon Pearl describes it as able to dive for over ten minutes to hunt. The cold coasts it frequents thus provide the setting for genuine swimming skill.
