The Pokémon’s story

Komala has slept since birth and remains asleep throughout its life. Its movements resemble those of someone stirring while dreaming. The leaves it eats are said to have soothing properties linked to this continuous sleep. The log it holds was given to it by its parents at birth. It may sometimes grasp the arm of a trusted Trainer, but its usual companion remains this piece of wood. Even motionless, it maintains a connection with those around it.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Moon presents Komala's log as a gift from its parents at birth. Pokémon Ultra Moon connects its permanent sleep with the leaves it eats. Pokémon Ultra Sun adds that it may stop moving altogether when sleeping more deeply.
