CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Aipom moves from branch to branch in the treetops, balancing with its tail. The tip resembles a hand: it uses it to hang, build its nest and grab food. After assigning almost all these tasks to its tail, its actual hands have become less dexterous. From its high perch, it watches for Bounsweet in particular. The Pokédex thus makes its tail a tool so effective that it has changed its other movements.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Omega Ruby says Aipom's hands have lost dexterity because it uses its tail too much. Pokémon Ultra Sun notes that it even builds its nest with it. Its most conspicuous appendage has therefore transformed how it works and moves.
