CARDEX BACKGROUND
Terapagos protects itself by turning energy into hard crystals. The Pokédex presents it as the source of the Terastal phenomenon affecting other Pokémon. Its older history is less certain: one entry supposes it once lived in Paldea and that upheaval in the ground caused its disappearance. Its current presence therefore leaves an open question about that past. Between its crystals and traces of an ancient world, Terapagos connects an observed ability with a still-disputed origin.
Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.Pokémon Scarlet credits Terapagos with the origin of the Terastal phenomenon and describes its protective crystals. Pokémon Violet presents its past in Paldea only as a hypothesis: movements of the ground may have caused the disappearance of earlier individuals.
Quoted source text is retained in the card’s printed language so this exact printing can be identified. The CarDex background above is translated into English.
