CARDEX BACKGROUND

About the species

Vileplume moves beneath immense petals that scatter toxic pollen with every step. Its flower’s beauty attracts prey, then its spores may put it to sleep before capture. Its largest petals produce more pollen, but their weight also eventually tires the Pokémon. The Pokédex thus balances the effectiveness of this floral trap against the effort needed to carry such an imposing head.

This account describes the species in the video games. It does not describe its Trainer’s history or that of this copy, and does not identify the depicted form or sex.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Shield gives Vileplume’s large petals a trade-off: they increase the amount of toxic pollen, but make its head heavier. Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! adds that it makes a great deal of noise when shaking them to scatter pollen.
