CARDEX BACKGROUND
Rayquaza lives so high in the ozone layer that it cannot normally be seen from the ground. It intercepts meteorites and absorbs their energy, while ancient accounts give it a role in ending the conflict between Kyogre and Groudon. Between this unreachable sky and the legends surrounding it, its presence is revealed mainly through events recounted by others.
Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.Rayquaza does more than intercept meteorites. According to Alpha Sapphire, their energy builds up in its body and allows it to Mega Evolve. The Pokédex thus connects its feeding in the ozone layer with a spectacular transformation. This mechanism belongs to the games' account, independently of a card's finish or number.
Quoted source text is retained in the card’s printed language so this exact printing can be identified. The CarDex background above is translated into English.
