CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

When Shinx senses danger, its fur can light up and dazzle an opponent, giving it time to escape. Electricity comes from contractions of its muscles, so physical agitation can signal a substantial charge. Its small size tells only part of the encounter: the subtlest movements may be preparing a sudden burst of light.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Shinx xy2-32 can try to Paralyze the opponent's Active Pokémon with its first attack: only heads triggers the condition, with no printed damage. Its other attack instead deals 30 damage for two Lightning Energy. Sanosuke Sakuma illustrated this printing, separating uncertain disruption from a direct hit.
