CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Cyndaquil readily curls up on itself. Yet this timid posture hides a spectacular defense: when it feels attacked, flames rise from its back to protect it. Its reserve and power are not opposites. The little Pokémon does not necessarily seek to impress, but its body has a fiery response when its treasured peace is threatened.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Cyndaquil's flames also reveal its fatigue. Pokémon Omega Ruby describes them as vigorous in anger but irregular and poorly sustained when it is exhausted. The fire's intensity therefore tells more than a simple intention to attack.
