CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Wobbuffet prefers to endure attacks rather than start a fight. It lives quietly in darkness, keeping its black tail hidden from view. When struck, endurance seems to define its entire attitude. Yet this patience has a very clear limit: touching its tail changes its response, revealing the particular importance it places on this small, carefully protected part of its body.

A detail worth noticing

Two Wobbuffet can turn their endurance into a contest. Pokémon Omega Ruby reports that they sometimes compete to see which can last longer without eating. Their rivalry can therefore take the unexpected form of a test of patience rather than an exchange of blows.
