CARDEX BACKGROUND
The Pokémon’s story
Whiscash lives on the bottom of swamps, sweeping the mud with its whiskers to locate prey. Its poor eyesight makes these vibration sensors essential. It readily swallows creatures that pass nearby, sometimes along with mud. If an intruder threatens its territory, it can cause an earthquake. The Pokédex recounts a belief that a school suddenly leaping from the water foretells an earthquake, but presents this sign as a belief.
Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.A detail worth noticing
Pokémon Ultra Moon explains that Whiscash uses its whiskers to detect vibrations despite its poor eyesight. Pokémon Shield describes the earthquakes it causes when defending its swamp. Its sensors therefore help it detect danger, which it answers with a tremor.
