Oddish de Erika

CARDEX BACKGROUND

About the species

Oddish spends the day planted in fertile soil, its feet resembling roots. It absorbs nutrients from the ground as its leaves become shinier. Once night arrives, it emerges in the moonlight and moves about to scatter its seeds. Its daytime stillness sometimes leads people to mistake it for a simple clump of grass; anyone trying to pull it up may hear a surprising cry. The Pokédex thus describes a life governed by the alternation of sun and moon.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Y gives Oddish the fictional scientific name “Oddium Wanderus”. This phrase accompanies its nocturnal walking on its roots and the scattering of its seeds. Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! adds that it is often mistaken for grass before its cry is discovered.
