The Pokémon’s story

Palafin lets nobody see the moment it changes appearance. The Pokédex relates that it transforms when it hears its allies calling for help. Before this change, its physical abilities do not exceed those of a Finizen. Yet danger to its companions triggers a much more powerful form. Its strength therefore appears in a specific situation: answering a call. The moment of transition from one appearance to another remains deliberately concealed.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Violet explains that before transforming, Palafin is no physically stronger than Finizen. Pokémon Scarlet adds that it lets nobody witness the change itself. The trigger is its allies’ cry for help.
