CARDEX BACKGROUND

The story behind this Trainer card

Island Challenge Amulet reduces its Pokémon-GX or Pokémon-EX holder's HP by one hundred. In exchange, if that Pokémon is Knocked Out by damage from an opposing attack, the opponent takes one fewer Prize card. The effect makes the holder more fragile while specifically changing Prizes obtained through that kind of Knock Out.

Background on this Trainer card’s printed effect; its edition, language and finish remain distinct.

A detail worth noticing

The Prize reduction has a cause requirement: the Knock Out must result from opposing attack damage. The text does not present this reduction as general protection against every way of losing the Pokémon.
