CARDEX BACKGROUND
Castform does not pass through changing weather without changing itself. Sun, rain, or snow can alter its appearance, while its mood also follows outside conditions. Its small body borrows different ways of presenting itself from nature. Weather thus becomes something visible in the Pokémon rather than merely scenery around it.
Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.Castform does not always choose its change of appearance. According to Ultra Sun's Pokédex, this weather-linked transformation is thought to be a chemical reaction beyond its control. The form visible on a card therefore does not explain the mechanism by itself: it is a species trait described in the games.
Quoted source text is retained in the card’s printed language so this exact printing can be identified. The CarDex background above is translated into English.
